Just need some honest straight forward advice and opinions. Please help?

Ok so i've kinda been dating this guy, but its long distance. And like hes a great guy and all and can be really sweet buuuuttt he can be selfish too in my opinion. Like when we text he's always very short and one worded. When we talk on the phone its an entirely different story. Like he'll be more talkative and open but we've never really talked for long nor have had any deep conversations like i've had in past relationships. When we skype, were never able to talk because his roomate is always there and he "likes his privacy" so we always type what we want to say out and even then he's real short Or sometimes I cant even see him because he "cant find his cam". When we first started talking he was more into me but no not so much. And he's been getting kinda neglectful because he has two jobs, which i can understand to a point. Well at least to me. I've talked to him about all this and he said he loves me and feel like an *** for being that way but haven't really noticed any change :-/ I would hate to break up with him because i've had a lot of people walk out of my life and im trying to stop that. So i just don't know :( what do you think i should do?
